This 19th century thermometer is in rare condition. It is set on ivory in a red leather case with silk lining. It is signed Andrew J. Lloyd Co., Boston across the top and in smaller print across the bottom J. Hioks, London, Eng.
There is wear to the outside of the case and the silk interior is frayed. The hinges work beautifully and the glass and ivory are intact. The case measures 6 1/2 inches long and 2 inches wide. It is 1 inch deep when closed.
